The organisers of the Automechanika Birmingham show, Forest Exhibitions were looking for a long-term strategic partner who could deliver a show-stopping launch event for the brand in the UK.
Automechanika is the world's leading international trade fair brand for the automotive service industry, a brand owned and managed by Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH.
Freeman was selected as general contractor for the show, a role that saw the team responsible for providing all core services to exhibitors. They also worked with a range of brands to plan, strategise and deliver custom build and stand enhancement solutions, and created a range of eye-catching feature areas for the organiser, which were carefully designed to ensure a welcoming environment for visitors.
We built stands for all exhibitors who opted for a standard shell scheme package, and provided over 10 stand enhancement packages. Our strategy and fabrication teams delivered two bespoke stands at the show, and one particular brand was so impressed by the quality; it enlisted the team to build its stand at Automechanika Frankfurt. The feature areas were open plan and drew attendees in, and the overall show design ensured a natural flow for visitors.
We worked with Freeman as the official contractor for the launch of our Automechanika Birmingham show at The NEC in 2016. From our initial meetings, through to more in-depth planning process, Freeman’s organisation, level of service and attention to detail was always excellent. Freeman ensured we delivered a great looking, well organised show for exhibitors and attendees alike, and we’ve seen a high number of exhibitors from 2016 re-book this year.
What’s also very important to us, is how the Freeman team react when something doesn’t go to plan. Their response to the unknown has been ultra-professional. We’re pleased to be working together for the 2017 show and beyond.
The results speak for themselves. The show was initially expected to span one hall however; this was expanded to three halls. One month after the show, it was reported that 50% of exhibitors had already re-booked for the following year, where the event will expand to five halls. More than 550 exhibitors attended Automechanika, which attracted over 12,000 visitors. Forest Exhibitions has subsequently opted to continue its work with Freeman.
It was an honour to work so closely on the Automechanika Birmingham launch show, alongside organiser Forest Exhibitions. Rob and the team were - and continue to be - great partners to work with, and show's success really highlight this.
The inaugural UK show was not only larger than anticipated, it has already grown in its second year, and I have no doubt that this trend will continue. I can't wait to see what's in store in the future.
